Welcome to my Learning Portfolio
"The steps of a righteous woman are ordered by the Lord..."
— Psalm 37:23
Hello, my name is Cynthia Fowler. Thanks for visiting my website!
My goal was never to attend Seminary. My aim was simply to take one or two Bible courses at a local college to fill in the gaps in my Bible knowledge and to learn how to interpret Scripture better. Yet, here I stand four years later, sixty-two hours down, and four to go before I achieve a Master of Arts in Christian Education at Dallas Theological Seminary.
This learning portfolio is only a snapshot of my in-depth work, the tremendous lessons I have learned, and the life-changing truths I have gleaned. In addition to the academic work, I have depicted some incredible experiences, met some awesome professors, and made new friends and acquaintances.
While at DTS, I have had amazing support; I could not have done it alone. I am thankful to my husband for proofreading endless papers and his ongoing support throughout this process. I am grateful for our adult children's encouragement and prayers and in-depth knowledge of technological platforms to present my creative projects. Last but not least, I am thankful to God for opening doors I didn't know I needed to walk through; for introducing me to people I didn't know I needed to meet; and teaching me the lessons I didn't know I needed to learn.
God has allowed me to study under some outstanding professors who have taught truth well, some of whom I now call my mentors and friends. Through their tutelage, I have gained wisdom about who God is and His purposes for my life. I have gained an understanding of my value and identity in Christ and what His death and resurrection mean for me and others. I have a deeper intimacy with Christ, which has created a deeper, endearing faith.
As I near the end of this unexpected journey, God continues to give me grace to endure difficult courses, challenging professors, unexpected health crises, and unplanned life changes. Nevertheless, He has allowed me to gain so much more than I could have thought or imagined.
To God be the glory for all that He has done!
